UTHSC is one of the best schools the US news ranks it among the top twelve of all the accredited SPHs! Having graduated form JIPMER, one of the top medical schools in India I wanted to pursue my Masters at one of the top schools in the US. I was attracted to the preventive potential of medicine from the undergraduate years itself and I felt that pubic health with it's emphasis on prevention can play a great role in India.
I got the visa quite easily...no problems.
I was self funded.
UTHSC is a very expensive school, but it was worth it. The many disciplines of Publis health such as Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Environmental health, Community health, etc. were handled very well. Overall, it was a good program.
Good opportunities for jobs as well as future research.
