No particular advice as such to students, but just be focussed on what majors you want and why??????

I wrote GRE as well as TOEFL and I prepared for these myself.My visa experience was good.I wasn't asked much except about my finances.I travelled by Qatar Airways from Nigeria to Philadelphia via Doha.My friend was there to pick me up at the airport and then we came to state college by car.No I didn't find any immigration issues at the airport and the university had offered a meet and greet service at the arrival section.

The university offers teacher's assistanship,research assistanship and varirous other scholarships including rhodes etc..

I am happy with the way my programme has been structured.Proffesors are excellent in their approach but funding is scarce due to global recession. All facilities ranging from sports to studies are top class.

I am staying outside campus in an apartment. Night life is good as pubs are open till 2 in the morning.Social scence outside is very friendly you can walk up to anyone for directions etc. Yes there is an international student society,but I am not sure about the intricacies.

There is a placement cell in the university as well as a placement process in place. It basically functions on alumni contacts,university contacts,as well as our own interest, Hods (head of department) do help in promoting uocoming students.However under ongoing circumstances the job market is down.Various organizations such as Delloit,Exxon mobil,Halliburton,Chevron,Shell,visit our campus.Work permit can be attained once we have a job offer but companies do need to justify why they want us in comparison to an American as there are immigration issues.
